“Slavery is a weed that grows on every soil.”
I normally try to stay out of controversial conversations or debates for the sole reason that they are typically heated debates. Unless you want to see an ugly side of me, you don’t try to upset me on purpose. And everyone knows during debates, no matter what side you’re on, someone gets butt hurt.
So for that sole reason, I avoid controversial conversations or debates.
Or I should say I AVOIDED controversial debates up until today.
Yesterday I read this disturbing article about a professor who is an incoming assistant professor at Boston University. If you haven’t read it, here’s a link.

And I have a few things to say. Obviously.
Ladies and Gents, racism is doing just fine and dandy in our day in age. It’s thriving as if slavery happened yesterday and that’s a problem.
I want everyone to throw the Slavery Card out. Just take it out of your back pocket, rip it up and throw it out.
Let me get one thing straight with all of you! Slavery between blacks and whites ended almost 200 years ago. I’ll repeat that for you. That is a 2 with two fat 00’s.
Now I’m not entirely sure of why you’re still blaming us white folks for what happened almost 200 years ago as we had absolutely no control over what Ours or Your ancestors did.
And I say “Yours” simply because there had to be someone over in Africa who was selling your ancestors to the slave owners. It’s not like the folks from the first colonies invaded Africa and took your ancestors without consent. Your ancestors were selling your ancestors.
So if you’d like to point a finger at someone, please do us all a favor and stop pointing it at white folks living today. Try pointing it at your ancestors for a change. For someone’s ancestors were doing the selling and trading.
Mind you, I’m not saying what my ancestors did was right by any means but don’t you dare punish me for something I didn’t do.
And now that we’ve covered that part of this lecture, let’s review how we earn rewards in life.
It’s very simple. Elementary simple.
In order for you to reap benefits in life, you must work towards receiving those benefits. Our country seems to be handing out freebies more and more these days but even then, they aren’t anything to brag about.
Sure, you may think that you’re owed something in life for the things your ancestors went through but in all honestly, you don’t deserve a damn thing in life if you don’t work for it.
That goes for every person who breathes. If you don’t bust your ass on a daily basis, don’t come complaining when you don’t have the finer things in life. Don’t you dare complain when someone else has nicer things than you. They earned it, you on the other hand didn’t.
Now I’m aware that you believe white people have the upperhand, but in all honestly, they had to start at the bottom to get to where they are now. They didn’t carry themselves with a kind of attitude that told others they deserved the world but weren’t willing to work for it. They started with nothing and worked for everything.
So as a whole, we need to put ourselves in our own little corners and we don’t need to come out of these corners until we have a change in attitudes.
America is a land full of opportunites and if you want to reap benefits from those opportunities, you best believe you’re going to bust your ass for those benefits.
No more “I deserve the world for what you did 200 years ago” kind of attitude.
It’s old. It’s absolutely absurd. And you’re the only one that feels that way. So give it a break! Please and thank you!
If you want racism to cease, then stop bringing it to the dinner table, to the work office and to any area in life that could possibly have any ties with racism.
And please realize that as a whole, black folks use the racism card and VICTIM CARD more often than a white folk would.
STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!
You aren’t the victims! The people you blame and trash talk and harm are the victims. Those people who have never done a single thing wrong to you but you harm verbally or physically are the real victims.
Not you, definitely not you, and not you!
So just like you did with the SLAVERY CARD, rip that sucker up and don’t ever use the VICTIM CARD again. It won’t work!
Also, let’s try to remember one little thing. #AllLivesMatter
Whether you are black, white, tan, albino or any other color, all of our lives matter!
It may be a weird or hard concept to understand, but it’s true. Black lives are no more important than asian, white or yellow lives.
So for the millionth time, just stop! This isn’t the 1800’s! That time has long ago passed.
And lastly, if you want to bitch and whine about slavery, please make yourself useful and help a cause that’s relevant to this day in age.
For example, women and children (even men and boys) are sold as sex objects around the world on a daily basis.
You could make yourself useful and help save those lives from endless torture and strife.
If you can’t do that then please give it up! It’s the 21st Century and we have moved on as you should too!
We’re not asking you to forget but we are asking you to forgive and move on. Live your life to better the country as a whole and not for a particular race.
And just remember, don’t get butt hurt when someone offends you or your race if you’re the one offending someone else and their race!
The victim card no longer exists for your benefit! That goes for anyone of any race!
Learn to appreciate differences and to live in harmony with each other!
